Pajama pants

I made my last batch of pajama pants after Tiger Lily was born, about seven years ago. Needless to say, I need some new ones. I got started with these, which clash wildly with my bedspread, but I like them. I took care to sew along the top of the casing to keep the elastic from twisting, and as always, I tucked a coordinating ribbon in the back so I can tell which way to put them on.

Ahh. Who knew that new pajamas could feel so good? I must make more.

  2. Just found your blog today- new subscriber! Newbie sewing question: do you sew along the top of the casing to just make a smaller opening, or do you sew through the top of the elastic?

P.S. I love pjs! Don't know why, but I like them the way some girls like shoes or handbags. I have 4 pair, which is huge for me since I try to keep clothing to an efficient minimum!

    1. Susan, I read somewhere that sewing along the top of the casing (before inserting the elastic) would keep the elastic from shifting and twisting. So far it seems to be working, and I like the way it looks.
