I haven't dipped anything in chocolate since May. These macaroons just seemed to be crying out for a dunk in dark chocolate. And for display in the cake dome—I just bought a new one to replace the one that Tiger Lily broke and cut her hand on a year ago.

Macaroons are one of the few cookies that I've had storebought but never homemade (until this week). They're easy to make; I'm glad I tried the recipe.
