Thread

My eclectic thread collection comes from various sources: both of my grandmothers, my in-laws, and a few from the fabric store. I love poking around in my box of odd-sized spools of odd-colored thread. I won't have to buy any thread for quite a while at this rate!

I'm going to "rerun" old posts every week or so. This was originally posted on December 26, 2007.

I love the old wooden spools! :-) ♥

I too have old wooden spools and old thread from my grandma. There is one caveat: some of the thread is no longer strong enough to run through a machine, and may not be good for clothing or items that need good strong stitching. I've fought this and realized it was better to buy a new spool at times.

Looks like a fun collection! Are you willing to use the old ones that have been passed down, or are they too sentimental?

I've used a lot of them, but like TJ said, sometimes they don't work too well; they break a lot in the machine.
