- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup nuts or raisins (optional)
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- Preheat oven to 425 and prepare 12 muffin cups.
- Cream butter and sugar; add egg, soda, and vanilla.
- Add flour and water alternately.
