  1. Hi Mrs. Mordecai! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love yours. We share a lot of the same passions...even after 33 years of marriage I am fascinated/obsessed with food storage and that kind of stuff. I couldn't figure out why I was so obsessed six months ago with canning meat, buying wheat, etc. NOW I know why-high prices and shortages.....hmmm, maybe following the prophet is good after all! :) Sorry so long-but you are on my favorites list now. See you again!

  3. We did this also this week! We had BBQ chicken almost every night. And we never got sick of it. We have a lot of frozen chicken and decided to just stick with what was in our house. We weren't suffering and we saved a fortune on what we normally would have spent on groceries.

Marilyn's comment above is something I was talking w/my husband about today. How we're supposed to build a family storage and this is something I haven't started, but need to. There definitely is a reason we are being told this.

  4. I would love to try this but evertytime I think I can do it I have been eaten out of house and home by a teenage boy! It is truly amazing how much food one teen age boy can put away! Perhaps one day I will be able to do it!

    Blessings,

  5. I try really hard to use up what we have and stockpile, but it still seems like we spend a ton every month on groceries. I'm so impressed by your plans.

  6. Thanks, you've given me hope! My husband recently broke his leg, and was fired (details posted on my blog), and will be out of work for about 8 weeks. Me being a stay at home mom, he is our only real income. It's been hard with him not working, and groceries have been scarce. I hope I can be as resourceful as you!!

  7. Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your experience. We always think there's nothing to eat around here, when in fact, the cupboards are full! It just takes some creativity.
