Be it ever so humble

'Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home;
A charm from the sky seems to hallow us there,
Which, seek through the world, is ne'er met with elsewhere.

The book ("Home Sweet Home)" from which I have taken this verse and illustration, as well as my blog header, was published in 1883. It came from my husband's grandmother. I adore old books! I am currently working to get this one into Project Gutenberg. If all goes well, I will be scanning many more! Here are instructions for contributing your own book to Project Gutenberg.
